Hi Joe,
one of my absolute favourites in this style of tying is the partridge and hares ear. Especially with difficult trout and grayling fished upstream dead drift with the occasional rod tip twitch to move it has done a lot for me. The trick is to lift it just a little and get the soft hackle to move.

I am very interested in participating but this year it's impossible as we have the World Tuscany Open which is a correspendence Fly Tying competion and the prize giving will take place in those exact days!! I will be participating as part of the Italian Bamboo Rodmakers Association.
However, I will make a point of being there next year so that I can meet you all and especially see my good friend Kasper again!!

1. Cages will be placed at certain intervals along the coast.
2. In addition we are considering divers that will swim around and physically hook the sea trout on my fly.
I will have a couple of nice sea trout in the back of my car for those that wish to buy one at the weekend.

Have I ever done fly fishing in a helmet?
Actually - Yes! Once in Coeur d' Alene in Idaho back in 2002. Some of the streams are like the one in your picture "Valentin gorge". Fly fishing in a helmet is a strange sight but no one invites a rock in the head!

Guys!, come on we do this type of nymphing all the time in the mountain streams, it is about the only way to catch wild browns, when the dry fly fishing is slow, and the water is clear , the browns lay in the tail out of the pool, and you can't let your fly line hit the water or they are gone. Can't be stealthy with a strike indicator , those are for beginners.
We are interested in coming again this year. please include us.

This can be used to imitate carp nuggets that come out of a carp feeder as well.

All being told, Steve and I landed about 25 fish at the last GFF summit, on the Friday between 50 and 60cm. A couple attached.
This year I intend to catch bigger fish. The heat is on...!

I envy the availability of those evening fisheries that you have. :) We certainly don't have those, at least not around the Greater Vancouver area. I've caught thick-lipped mullet in Asia before but never sight flyfished for them like what you do in DK. One day... Last year's short trip to King River with Martin and others was really special for me and I hope to be able to do that again possibly next spring. In the meantime, I just have to put up with these 45cm rainbows that love to gulp down a size 4 stonefly. :D

The pictures are lovely and I especially liked the last with the beautiful spots from the brookies. The first picture is a nice angle...
Steve and I are out again tomorrow evening (Friday). We will keep our shirts on this time and hope for some prime silver and maybe some mullet. We know where they are...We know they are there...It's just a matter of placing that darn fly in the right place...
We'll keep you posted with the results...

Too bad Vanuz, you should have gone to Trygg about 6 weeks earlier. ;) If I remember correctly, Nina and I were there on May 12th last year and the big pikes were boiling on the surface everywhere. This time of the year it's pretty slow (that's probably why the day card is so cheap :lol: ).
